Important Security Update: Increasing Minimum Android Support for LTS Mobile App to Android 10 and above (wef 26 June 2026)

As part of our ongoing security review and enhancement of the LTS Mobile App, the minimum supported Android version will be increased to Android 10 and above, effective from 26 June 2026, for app version v2.85 and all future releases.

This means that clients using Android 9 or earlier will not be able to update to LTS Mobile App v2.85 or future releases.

Reason for the Change

Android 9 has reached end-of-life and no longer receives active security support and critical security updates from Google. Continuing to support Android 9 exposes clients and the Company to higher cybersecurity risk.

The risk is not limited to the LTS Mobile App. If a client's Android 9 device is compromised, other applications on the same device may also be exposed, including banking, trading, payment, Singpass, email, messaging, browser, and other personal applications.

Key risks include:
• Malware infection
• Credential theft
• SMS/OTP interception
• Unauthorised access
• Personal data leakage
• Transaction manipulation
• Potential unauthorised trading activity

Impact on Clients

Client Device Impact
Android 10 or above No action required. Clients may continue to update and use the LTS Mobile App as usual.
Android 9 or earlier Clients will not be able to update to LTS Mobile App v2.85 or future releases. They should upgrade their Android OS or change to a device that supports Android 10 or above.

Clients using Android 9 may temporarily continue using v2.84 or earlier. Access using older app versions will be discontinued from 26 June 2026.


Actions Required

You are advised to:

  1. Check your current Android version.
  2. Upgrade to Android 10 or above, where supported by your device.
  3. Change to a supported device if your existing phone cannot be upgraded.
  4. Update the LTS Mobile App once the new version is available.
