LTS OTP/SMS OTP
  • 01. What is LTS OTP/SMS OTP?

    The LTS OTP/SMS OTP is a security enhancement that provides an additional layer of protection for your Online trading account and information from unauthorized access.

    The LTS OTP is a 2FA token that will be set up and installed on your mobile phone within the limtan Mobile App (iPhone/iPad/Android), which can be downloaded for free from App/Play store.

    Minimum limtan Mobile App requirement: Version 2.75 and above

    You can use it to authenticate access to all Lim & Tan trading platforms (limtan.com.sg and limtan Mobile channels - iPhone/iPad/Android).

    • LTS OTP: A feature within the limtan Mobile App that generates a 6-digit One-Time Password (OTP).
    • LTS SMS OTP: A 6-digit OTP via SMS will be sent to the mobile number you have registered with LTS.

  • 02. Can I still continue to login with just my Login ID and Password without 2FA?

    No, please register for 2FA to login with your Login ID and Password.

  • 03. How do I setup for LTS OTP via limtan Mobile channels?

    a) To setup for LTS SMS OTP, please login with your Login ID and Password.

    b) Upon selection, enter the mobile number (last 8 digits) you have registered with Lim & Tan Securities (LTS). If you have not registered or would like to change your mobile number, please contact your Trading Representative or the Online Trading Helpdesk.

    c) A 6-digit One-Time Password (OTP) via SMS will be sent to the mobile number you have registered with LTS. Enter the OTP to complete your registration.

    Please note that the LTS SMS OTP will be automatically enabled once you have registered successfully.

  • 04. How do I setup for LTS SMS OTP via limtan.com.sg?

    a) To setup for LTS SMS OTP, please login with your Login ID and Password.

    b) Upon login, there will be a 2FA Login pop-up showing the last 4 digits of your current mobile number on record with LTS.

    After verification, you may proceed to enter the last 8 digits of your mobile number provided to Lim & Tan Securities (LTS) to register for two-factor authentication (2FA).

    E.g. For Singapore mobile no. +6512345678, key in only 12345678.

    c) A 6-digit One-Time Password (OTP) via SMS will be sent to the mobile number you have registered with LTS. Enter the OTP to complete your registration.

    d) To setup for LTS OTP, please refer to Qn 3 above for step by step guide.

  • 05. How do I generate a One-Time Password (OTP) using LTS OTP/SMS OTP?

    To generate an OTP:

    • limtan.com.sg (Web channel)

    Launch the limtan Mobile App and select "LTS OTP".

    Enter the generated 6-digit OTP and select "GO". Alternatively you may select "here" to receive the OTP via SMS.

    • limtan Mobile channels (iPhone/iPad/Android)

    Authentication will be done seamlessly in the background on your LTS OTP enabled device. However, to login your account on an alternative mobile device, the generated 6-digit OTP from your LTS OTP enabled device will be required. Alternatively you may select "Send SMS OTP" to receive the OTP via SMS.

  • 06. Is 2FA compulsory for trading through Lim & Tan Securities?

    Yes, 2FA is compulsory for trading through Lim & Tan Securities to safeguard your Online trading account.

  • 07. How can I update my mobile number to receive 2FA SMS OTP?

    You can update your mobile number under "Personal Configurations" icon on the trading platform.

  • 08. What shall I do with my OneKey Token or SMS 2FA from Assurity after I have registered successfully for LTS OTP/SMS OTP?

    Your OneKey Token and SMS 2FA from Assurity will no longer be in use after you have registered successfully for LTS OTP/SMS OTP. Please keep your OneKey Token if you are using it to access other financial services.

  • 09. Do I need to pay for LTS OTP?

    The LTS OTP is free.

  • 10. Can I setup for LTS OTP via limtan.com.sg?

    No. The LTS OTP is a feature within the limtan Mobile App. Therefore, you can only setup the LTS OTP via limtan Mobile channels (iPhone/iPad/Android).

  • 11. Can I register more than one mobile device for LTS OTP?

    No. For security purposes, you are not allowed to register the LTS OTP on more than one mobile device.

    To login your account on an alternative mobile device, you are required to enter the generated 6-digit One-Time Password (OTP) from your LTS OTP enabled device.

  • 12. What shall I do if I have lost or changed my mobile device?

    You may setup your LTS OTP on your new mobile device and the LTS OTP on your previous device will be disabled automatically.

  • 13. Can I use the LTS OTP if I do not have any data or network connection on my mobile?

    You can still use the LTS OTP to generate One-Time Password without any data or network connection.

    Please note that data or network connectivity is still required to login your account via limtan Mobile channels (iPhone/iPad/Android).

  • 14. What if I cannot register the device for LTS OTP?

    You will need to update the limtan Mobile App if it is currently not running on Version 2.75 and above. Please visit App/Play store to update your version.

  • 15. Are there accounts which are not eligible for LTS OTP?

    All accounts will be eligible for this service.

  • 16. Can I register for multiple accounts on one mobile device for LTS OTP?

    No. You can only register the LTS OTP for one account on one mobile device.

  • 17. Is there a validity period for the LTS OTP/SMS OTP before it expires?

    For security purposes, the LTS OTP and SMS One-Time Password (OTP) is only valid for 30 seconds and 2 minutes respectively. If the OTP is expired, please re-enter the new generated OTP.

  • 18. Will I receive the SMS OTP when I am overseas?

    Yes, you will still receive the SMS OTP to the mobile number you have registered with us except for Philippines, Indonesia, US and China mobile numbers.
